Two Limericks on Passion, Violence, and Self-reprimand in Extreme Climates

Limerick (14th century English) 

                                                  1.

There once was a girl from Madrid
Who inspired the famous El Cid.
She gave him her heart
Which he foolishly scarred,
So she shot him straight through the head.

                                                  2.

There was a young man from Quebec
Who hanged himself by the neck.
His wife, he abhorred, 
plus he was so bored
that his life was a miserable wreck.
